Short walk via the overpass to Belen's Historic Main Street District

 

First stop is Historic Pete's Cafe for lunch
1:15 - 2:30 PM

Following lunch, walk across the street to the Harvey House Museum, This is one of the few remaining Harvey Houses from the days of the AT/SF passenger trains like the Super Chief.
2:30 - 3:30 PM.

Be sure to pick up your Belen Walking Tour Brochure before you leave the museum.

Following the guide, walk a short distance down Becker street past the historic hotels, the Becker Street Pub, the 1938 WPA Old City Hall to the Belen Art League Gallery. 3:45 - 4:15 PM

Head over to Dalies Ave and visit Harla May's inside the historic Onate Theatre with it's huge collection of memorabilia and then heading back toward the train down Dalies Ave. Drop in at Buckland's Pharmacy with it old soda fountain. Continuing down Dalies you'll pass by one of the original Sears prefab kit homes that came to Belen on an early train from Chicago.

You'll want to return to the train station by about 5:30 PM as the Rail Runner departs promptly at 5:50 PM.
